National Junior Mace Debating Competition
Saturday, 20th January 2024
On Saturday, January 20th, four Blackrock College Junior Debating Teams competed against 120 students in the third round of the National Junior Mace Debating Competition in Belvedere College.
Teams
Team A: Daniel Burns & Thomas Murray (both 3rd Year)
Team B: Matthew Leamy (3rd Year) & Ross Murphy (2nd Year)
Team C: Dan Hayden & Daniel Goss (both 2nd Year)
Team D: Paddy English & Arlo Liddy (both 2nd Year)
Motions included:
This House Would Make Music and Art compulsory for Junior Cycle.
IR: This House Believes That Irish neutrality does not have a place in modern times.
This House Would pay stay at home parents a basic income of €325.
Final Round: This House would implement demeny voting
