FAI Schools Leinster TY Cup Quarter Final, Feb 2024

The scoreline would suggest a somewhat comfortable win but this match was anything but comfortable. Ratoath are an excellent side and put us under pressure for large parts of the game. They were a big physical side, a real danger from set pieces and started the game very well. We were dealt a blow when Jack O’Brien went off injured inside the first 3 minutes. The group responded superbly and the work rate throughout the match was phenomenal. It didn’t dip once and the discipline, togetherness and heart of the team was the winning of the game.

A Jack Kelly header had put us 1-0 up at half time before ten minutes into the second half an excellent Pearse Kearney header put us 2-0 up. A Jack Kelly penalty subsequently sealed the win.
