FAI Schools Leinster Cup, Feb 2023

Extra-time was needed to separate the sides in freezing and extremely windy conditions. Playing with the wind in the first half Rock went 1-0 down against the run of play and responded well to equalise 5 minutes later with an Arden Dunne header which was how it stayed at half time. Jack Kelly (Captain) put Rock 2-1 ahead early in the second half and we had multiple opportunities to stretch the lead. Tullow however equalised direct from a corner thanks to a very strong gust of wind. With three minutes left Tullow had a free kick destined for the bottom corner before Martin Penamaria in goal pulled off a superb save to keep us in the cup.

The boys were outstanding in extra time and really dug deep. Harry Weir, after some excellent dribbling, put us ahead with a shot from outside the box before Arden Dunne completed his hat-trick with two more goals early in the second half of extra time.
