Blackrock College vs Holy Child Killiney (Friendly)

On Tuesday 25th October, we welcomed students from Holy Child Killiney to take part in a friendly.

All the speakers presented very interested and well-researched speeches on the motion that ‘This House Would Ban Embedded Journalism’.

Congratulations to the second opposition team, Jonathan Hoffman and Ben Kieran-Glennon (both 6th Year), who were awarded first place in the debate. Congratulations also to Kate Fan from HCK, who was awarded Best Speaker.

We commend our other team of speakers, Zack Egan-Ruane and Darragh O’Neill (both 4th Year) and the other speakers from HCK, for their excellent presentations.

We thank Mr Orrock for his preparation of the boys and organisation of the debate. Many thanks to Ms Amy Cox, HCK Debating Coach, for her help in preparing the event. We look forward to collaborating again with HCK after Christmas.
