A packed pool arena generated a great atmosphere for this year’s Swimming Gala which was efficiently run, a compliment to officials and swimmers, and provided tremendous entertainment.

Amongst the many highlights were Ronan Fahey (5th Year)’s victory in the Principal’s trophy with Eamon Bradley (5th Year) in 2nd place.

The Junior Championship Race won by Charlie Collenette (3rd Year) with Daniel English (2nd Year) second.

Jed O’Malley, Ronan Fahey, Ciaran Murphy, Charlie Collenette and Eoghan Rowlands won the 6th, 5th, TY, 3rd and 2nd Year 50M Freestyle races respectively.

The Inter Year Relay was won by Duff with Shanahan second.

Duff had a great evening winning the 6th, 5th and TY Team events with Ebenrecht first in 3rd Year and DeValera in 2nd Year.

We thank my colleagues Mr Vanstone, Mr Evan O’Brien, Mr Brennan, Mr Sean O’Brien, Mr Kelly, Ms Nolan, Ms Harlowe, Mr O’Neill, Mr Herlihy, Mr Mealiffe, Ms Markey, Ms Reilly, Mr Rafferty, Mr Barry, Ms Ni Shíocháin and our Household Department without whom it wouldn’t happen. We also congratulate the House Captains on the excellent turnout.
