Boarders’ Family Mass, Sept 2022

Boarders’ Family Mass
Sunday, 11th September 2022
There was an excellent turnout of parents and Boarders at the Family Mass last Sunday, with even more online.
Fr. Cormac O’Brolchain urged the Boarders to live their lives as children of God for that is who they are.
He explained the meaning of the word love – Agape – care and consideration for others, a giving of self without expectation of return.
Mr Mealiffe opened the liturgy setting the scene for the Year. “You may be a product of your environment but your environment is also a product of you.”
Gus McCarthy (class of 2022) spoke at the end of the mass, encouraging the boys to make the most of their time in the Castle, an experience he enjoyed immensely.
We thank President of the Union, John Doherty (class of 1986) and his wife Nicola for providing that invaluable link with the past.
We thank Fr. O’Brolchain and concelebrant Fr. Nash; our cantors Liam Demann and William Connellan (both 6th Year) for leading us in song: pianist Franz Ezquerra (TY), organist Mr Grumley-Traynor, Castle Chaplain Mr Keena and Sacristan Ms Irene Dunne, Director of Boarding Mr Mealiffe, Co-ordinator of Care, Ms Aisling Carr and our Housemaster and/Intern team, Mr Rogan, Mr Brennan, the Boarders and their parents for their contribution to such an uplifting liturgy.
