J3rds and 4ths Belfast Trip

The inaugural trip to Belfast for the Junior 3rds and 4ths began on a crisp early January Friday morning. The boys had the opportunity to train at the indoor 3G training facility in Ulster University Jordanstown. Day 1 of the trip concluded with a visit to watch the Belfast Giants vs Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey game in the SSE Arena.

On Saturday, the teams took on the boys from Royal Belfast Academy. The 4ths game ended in a resounding and deserved victory over RBA winning 10-53 while the 3rds put up a valiant display but RBA were just too strong, the final score being 37-5 (Jacob Handy scoring for Blackrock).

The trip was an incredible experience for all involved and our thanks for it go to Mr Halpin, Mr Creighton, Rob Kenny, John Vinson, Conall Hodges, Zach Quirke and Peter McDermott for making the trip possible.
