Basketball – U-16 Basketball All-Ireland League v Adamstown CC

U-19 A Basketball Ireland Schools Cup
October 2022

BLACKROCK COLLEGE 37 | ADAMSTOWN CC 73 |
The U-16 team had their second league match against Adamstown CC last Tuesday, 4th October. Adamstown team put pressure on Blackrock from the start. Our team responded by driving to the basket and picking up free throws. Despite the team’s efforts, Adamstown led at the end of the first quarter 29-15.
Missed rebounds resulted in many fast breaks by the Adamstown team, which ultimately led to them widening the score gap during the second quarter. The start of the second half saw a burst of energy from the ‘Rock side. The team worked hard on offense to try and close the gap. Unfortunately, their efforts weren’t enough as Adamstown ultimately extended their lead to 73-37.
Leading the offensive charge were Aaron O’Halloran (4th Year – 19 points) and Peter Lee (2nd Year – 8 points). While their encounter with a physical and well-organised Adamstown didn’t go their way, the team can be proud of their efforts on offense as well as their overall teamwork.
We thank our coaches, Ms Fitzgerald, Rory Linanne (Class of 2017), Barry O’Sullivan (Class of 2018) and Roberto Brusasca
(Class of 2019).
