Basketball – U-16 A Basketball Ireland All-Ireland League v Templeogue College

U-16 Basketball Ireland All-Ireland A League
October 2022

BLACKROCK COLLEGE 29 | TEMPLEOGUE COLLEGE 75 |
The U-16 team played their final league match against Templeogue in the National Basketball Arena last Wednesday. We settled into the first quarter by setting up a strong zone defence and putting pressure on Templeogue. Gearóid Nutley (3rd Year) and Rocky Kenneally (2nd Year) worked well to secure rebounds and keep Templeogue’s offensive progress to a minimum. On offence, the team worked to set the pace by passing and cutting to the basket. Leading the attack was Peter Lee (2nd Year) with 20 points.
While this encounter with a strong and organised Templeogue team ended in a loss, the team can be proud of their work on defence as well as attack right until the final whistle.
We thank our coaches Rory Linanne (Class of 2017), Barry O’Sullivan (Class of 2018), Roberto Brusasca (Class of 2019) and Ms Fitzsimons.
