Badminton Update

Hard luck to our U19 B Badminton team (Division 3 Section 2) who lost to a more experienced Coláiste Chraobh Abhann squad in the first round of the Dublin Schools Badminton league. We welcome our new members Finaly Threadgold-Ball, Braydon Chau and Isaac Moss (All TY) to the team along with our experienced player Conor McFarland (Captain). We wish them the best of luck in the next game away to Temple Carrig School on Tuesday.

Congratulations to Chenlei Wang, Jack Casey, Mark Connolly and David Hopkins (All Third Year) who were successful in the first two league games of the U16 B Division 3. They won 4.2 against St Aidan’s and won 6.0 away to Terenure College. These boys put on a fine display of badminton in both singles and in their doubles. A win against De La Salle College should secure them a place in the quarter final. Keep up the good work.

Our U16 A team also came home with a win in their opening round of the league away to Terenure College. Congratulations to Callum Downes, Jamie O’Nuallain, Callum Dee and Darragh McCarthy (All Third Year). They will play away to St Benildus College A Today Monday (7th) and we wish them the very best in the Dublin School League.

Finally, we wish both our U19 C and U16 C teams the very best of luck as they kick off their season this Wednesday and Thursday. Both teams play away against Sutton Park in Baldoyle Badminton Centre and Ard Scoil le Salle A. These boys are new members to the Badminton Club, and we hope you enjoy your playing experience and in representing Blackrock College.
