5th Year Family Mass, Jan 2023

5th Year Family Mass
Saturday, 28th January 2023
At the start of last Saturday’s 5th Year Mass service to others, Aran O’Flaherty posed 3 questions: What can I do to help others? What can others do to help me? How can I help myself?
Fr O’Brolchain reminded us that we are a caring, giving, hopeful people. In the reading, St Paul to the Corinthians, we were told that there are three things that last: Faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love. It was a fantastic mass.
It was a tremendous occasion. The choir was magnificent, our musicians were superb. Our chaplain, Mr Madden, confined to barracks for Covid reasons, watched online… He wrote, “What a celebration of all that is great about Blackrock; uplifting! A 9th Beatitude. Blessed are those that experience Blackrock for theirs is a life of gratitude to share……..NGU”.
We thank our celebrants Fr O’Brolchain, Fr Nash, Fr Dundon and Fr McDonald, President of the Union John O ‘Doherty (class of 1986) his wife Nicola and family, Mr Grumley-Traynor, Mr Orrock, Mr O’Reilly, Mr O’Neill, Ms Nolan, Ms Markey, Ms Crimmins, Ms Dunne and the families and boys of 5th Year who made it so meaningful.
