Welcome to the Blackrock College website. We hope our website helps to give you an understanding, appreciation and insight into College life today.

The Spiritan values are intertwined with the College’s own values of ‘Be Caring, Be There, Be Truthful, Be Grateful and Be Respectful’ and together, both sets of values offer the boys a way to live. Our values encourage the boys to be thoughtful individuals, to work for and on behalf of those less fortunate than themselves and to do so with ‘Fides et Robur’.
A Blackrock education is about growth, of the self and our community. Every member of our community is encouraged to be the best that they can be, to cultivate an attitude of gratitude, to be inspired by our tradition but not limited by it and to contribute to the Blackrock community in whatever domain they can – spiritual, academic, cultural, pastoral and/or sporting.
Education has moved beyond the transfer of knowledge in the classroom. Throughout our day we are provided with learning moments and the boys need to be open to those moments. Our aim is for the boys to be critical and reflective thinkers, to act with humility and honesty, to celebrate difference and to be inclusive in terms of how they act towards each other and every member of our community.
We want the boys to embrace their God given talents for in doing so we are reminded of Saint Catherine of Siena’s words “If you are what you should be, you will set the world on fire”. We encourage the boys to be who God meant them to be and during their time with us we aim to facilitate that development as they become men of humility, good judgement, wisdom and faith.
Ultimately, our aim is to encourage and facilitate all in our Community to flourish.
