Interschools Music Festival 2026

Blackrock College enjoyed an outstanding weekend of music-making at the Interschools Music Festival, held in Wesley College on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March 2026. Students participated across a wide range of categories – including solos, duets, ensembles and bands – representing the College with distinction, enthusiasm and a strong sense of camaraderie.

The Interschools Music Festival is a wonderful celebration of musical talent, where students perform to a very high standard while sharing their passion with peers and supporting one another. This year’s fiftieth anniversary brought a particularly vibrant atmosphere to the Wesley campus, with more than 3,500 students taking part.

Warm congratulations to all who participated, as well as to their teachers for the preparation, dedication and guidance that made these performances possible. Individual results are outlined in the accompanying table. Special recognition goes to our ensembles: the Libermann Choir, winners of the Frank Hughes Cup for 3- or 4-Part Boys’ Choirs, and the Jazz Band, who secured the Secondary Level Orchestral Band Cup—both outstanding achievements.

Sincere thanks to all parents, students and staff who supported and attended the competitions. Their encouragement and presence contributed greatly to the success and enjoyment of the event.
