Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th of February 2024
WCDMUN 2024 took place on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th of February at Wesley College. Blackrock sent three delegations, France, Cuba and Cameroon. In total, 17 delegates attended from Blackrock, while Henry Brown (5th Year) represented the College as the chair of the ECOSOC committee.
Topics such as the Ongoing Partition of Cyprus, External Influences in the Israel-Hamas Conflict and Unethical International Aid were discussed.
Congratulations to Aran O’Flaherty (6th Year) and Leo Fowler (5th Year) on receiving Best Delegate awards, Dan Hayden (2nd Year) on receiving the Highly Commended award and Darragh O’Neill, Fionn Whelan and Edward Wilson (Both 5th Year) and Daniel Burns (3rd Year) on receiving Commended awards.
Overall, the delegation of France was the only delegation at the conference that had each member win an individual award. The delegation won Best Delegation in General Assembly.
