Badminton Update

November 2022

This has been a very exciting and competitive week for all our teams. Our U16 A, Division 3 players Calum Downes, Jamie O’Nuallain Callum Dee and Darragh McCarthy (all 3rd year) have dominated in their two league games. The boys have had impressive wins in both their single and double pairings. These games have been of high intensity, and we wish them the very best of luck in their last group game on Tuesday 15th November.

On Tuesday 8th, our U19 B team travelled to Temple Carrig and unfortunately were defeated 6-0. We wish them the very best of luck in their final game in the Division 3 section 2 playing away to Belvedere College on Friday 18th November. Finlay Threadgold-Ball, Braydon Pak, Isacc Moss & Conor McFarland (All TY students).

On Wednesday 9th, Conor Wall (TY) Jack Droney (3rd) Dominic Kilbride and Jeward Imran (both TY) travelled to Baldoyle Badminton Leinster Club for their very first time. Despite great effort against stronger oppositions, their two league games ended in a defeat against a talented St Fintan’s side and furthermore lost out against a very competitive Sutton Park (whose team was made up of all 6th year students). These boys will play their last league game next Tuesday at home to Mount Temple.

We thank our Ms Ní Shíocháin and Robert Byrne (class of 2021) for their organisation and preparation of the boys.

TUESDAY 15TH NOVEMBER

On Tuesday 15th November, the College will be playing HOME games in the PE Hall during lunch @ 12:50-1:50.
