Junior Schools Debating Competition

October 2022

Round 1 of the Junior Schools Debating Competition, hosted by the UCD Law Society and the UCD Literary and Historical Society, took place in UCD on Thursday October 6.

Blackrock College had four teams competing in this competition:

Team A: Josh Murphy and Jamie Browne Lynch (3rd Year)
Motion: This House Would ban junk food for children – 3rd Proposition.

Team B: Thomas Murray and Daniel Burns (2nd Year)
Motion: This House Would Ban violent video games – 1st Opposition

Team C: Brian Carroll and Tom Hayden (3rd Year)
Motion: This House Would ban junk food for children – 2nd Opposition

Team D: Matthew Leamy and Michael Kennedy (2nd Year)
Motion: This House Would Ban violent video games – 2nd Proposition.

Team A came within the top two in their room and Team C came in first position in their room.

We have two more rounds to compete in in this competition.
