Basketball – Ireland U19 Schools Cup

This was an excellent performance from ‘Rock. When the opposition are doing dunks in their warm-up you know you’re up against a big physical side! They were an excellent side with very tough, physical, post players but our young squad more than stood up to the challenge throughout.

‘Rock led from the outset and by the final quarter had built an 11 point lead. The 4th quarter was more about game management and it was hugely please to see ‘Rock retain possession well, stay calm and get the win.

The variety of ‘Rock’s offence was a significant positive. Nico Coll (Captain – 5th Year) led by example with 10 points in the second quarter alone and 15 overall, Ronin O’Halloran (4th Year) shot superbly from range with 11 points and Jimmy Gilligan (4th Year) with 8 points more than made his mark.
