Whole School Gathering 2018

Whole School Gathering
In preparation for the Senior & Junior Cup Campaigns
Wednesday, 24th January 2018

Bob Casey (Class of 1996) was guest of honour at this year’s rally. In an excellent speech, he told the boys that Blackrock is about much more than rugby, it is about a unity of purpose and a clear understanding of what we stand for. He spoke warmly of his time in Blackrock, of Boarding and of his teachers, mentors and peers.
Liam Turner (6th Year), captain of the S.C.T., built on this theme. Reflecting on last Sunday’s Leman Concert, he told his fellow students that all that we do, we do well. We have high standards, high expectations and he promised his fellow students that the S.C.T. will do its best.
James Culhane (3rd Year), Captain of the J.C.T., spoke about the importance of support particularly in the context of their draw. This was an excellent occasion. The atmosphere throughout was electric. The Lion Video was superb.
I congratulate Charlie Byrne (6th Year) and his fellow cheerleaders on an excellent job.
Keep it up!
