WHOLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY ~ FRIDAY, 2 OCTOBER 2015 FEAST OF CLAUDE POULLART DES PLACES
The Whole School Community assembled in Des Places Hall, our Sports Hall, in celebration of the excellent start to the school year.
Our Spiritual Director and Community Leader, Fr. Cormac O’Brolchain, CSSp. presided and urged the boys to action, to live the BE CARING, BE THERE, BE TRUTHFUL of Blackrock. He presented the Libermann Cup, the award of the Best Overall House for 2014/15, to Rory Patterson and Stephen Kilgallen (both 6th Year), the Captains of McQuaid House. David Hardiman and Jordan McDonald (both 6th Year) shared with the boys a very personal and insightful reflection on their Pilgrimage to Lourdes with the Dublin Diocese which they found to be “a wonderful, joyful and inspiring experience”. “The message of Lourdes is the same as the message of Blackrock – live life to your full potential”. David and Jordan were outstanding.
Chairman of the Student Council, Tim Maguire (6th Year) led the community in our new school prayer which was presented, wallet size, to everyone in attendance.
This was a great Blackrock occasion and I thank the boys, particularly 6th Year for their participation and attention.
