TRANSITION YEAR GAELIC FOOTBALL
Blackrock 5-6
Old Bawn 3-6
The U16 Gaelic Team continued their winning start to the season after a thrilling encounter against Old Bawn in Stepaside yesterday evening.
Goals from Captain Hugh Kenny and Michael Taaffe saw Blackrock lead by a single point at the break with the score of the half coming from Ross Deegan, a fantastic point from the left sideline.
Old Bawn, however, came out a different team in the second half and led by four points with ten minutes left on the clock. Blackrock never gave up and after sustained pressure managed to level the game through a goal from substitute Jerome Doyle. With the game now tied, two well-worked goals from both Ross Deegan and James Moriarty saw Blackrock take the victory.
I thank Mr Ó Curraoin for his preparation of the Squad.
