Tennis Update – Senior Division 2

Senior Tennis Division 2 Wednesday 26th of April

The Senior Division 2 team opened this season with a 3-2 win over St Gerard’s. Captain Riley Dargan (6th Year) lost out on his first singles match with a score of 6-2 6-1. Karl Conroy (5th Year) won well with 6-3, 7-5 and Eoin Joy won his singles 6-3 6-4 7-6.

Conor Fitzpatrick (5th Year) and James Arbuthnott (5th Year sub) teamed up to play their first doubles match, losing out on a 6-1 6-0 score.

Cormac Madden (5th Year) and James Kelly (6th Year) both stepping in as substitutes for the afternoon won out their games with 6-3 6-3.

Senior Tennis Division 2 Tuesday 9th of May

Unfortunately Riley Dargan’s team did not get the opportunity to play their second fixture before meeting current holders of Senior Tennis Title for three years in a row – Gonzaga.

Winning players of this round were Karl Conroy (5th) in second singles beating his component with 6-0 6-1 and Joseph O ‘Connell (6th) with Eoin Joy (6th) in the first doubles won scoring 7-6 6-4. Overall score 3-2.
