Tennis – Singles and Doubles Update
MINOR 1 TEAM
SINGLES AND DOUBLES:
Congratulations to our Minor 1 Tennis Team Singles: Colm Kelly, Stephen Ó Nualláin, James Brophy (all 2nd Year) and Doubles: Tony Rowe & Will Fitzgerald (both 2nd Year) and James Harvey & Callum O’Brien (both 1st Year) who have beaten both Castleknock and St. Michael’s in our opening group matches and next we take on Gonzaga for a place in the semi-final.

JUNIOR A TEAM
SINGLES AND DOUBLES:
Our Junior A Team of Andrew Doyle and Oisin Luff (both 3rd Year) playing singles and Sean Probert (2nd Year), Javier Navarro (3rd Year), Robert Kelly and Alex Carroll (4th Year) playing doubles, have beaten St. Michaels and lost narrowly to Gonzaga. We play Belvedere in the semi-final on Friday 12th May. We wish the team and their fellow squad members Luke O’Brien, Andrew Kennedy and Rory Healy (all 3rd Year) well for the semi- final.

SENIOR TEAM DIVISION 1
SINGLES AND DOUBLES:
Our team of James Tarrant (Single 1 – 5th Year), Harry Owens (Single 2 – 5th Year) and Rex Lloyd (Single 3 – 6th Year) and Des Roche (6th Year), Gary Galvin (5th Year), Jerome Doyle (6th Year) and Callum Ryan (5th Year) all playing doubles, playing two very tight matches, losing to St. Michaels (25 April) and Terenure (2 May) losing 2-3 in both. Unfortunate losses as every boy played well on both days. Our 3rd match, against Gonzaga (9 May), resulted in a loss for Blackrock with Des Roche and Gary Galvin in doubles being the only ones to secure a win on the day.
