There was a fine turnout of Parents, Coaches and Boys at the Annual Table Tennis Awards ceremony held in the Lecture Hall last evening, Tuesday, 12th May 2015.
Mr Joe Hickey, President of the Ireland Schools’ Table Tennis Association formally presented the Leinster and All-Ireland Medals and Trophies to the respective Squads and their Captains who, in turn, made presentations to
Fr. Cormac O’Brolchain.
It has been another extraordinarily successful year for Table Tennis, which was acknowledged by both Richard Butler in his Annual Report and Mr Hickey in his closing remarks.
Presentations were also made to Charlie Fitzgerald (4th Year) Winner of the School Championships held last Saturday 9/5/15, Robert Kelly (2nd Year) Minor Player of the Year), Evan McCool (2nd Year) Junior Player of the Year, Andrew Campbell (6th Year) Senior Player of the Year and Joey Nelson (3rd Year) Overall Player of the Year.
The success of Table Tennis is staggering and is built on hard work, on commitment not just of the boys, but of their parents, coaches and particularly Richard Butler.
Richard acknowledged the tremendous support of the Deans, Catering Maintenance and Household staff in the putting together of a programme that is without parallel in the sport in Ireland.
This is another fantastic Blackrock success story.
