Swimming Gala, Thursday 20th October 2016

There was fantastic atmosphere in the Pool Arena for our Annual Swimming Gala. There was a tremendous turnout. 32 races – 4 NEW RECORDS three by Ethan Murtagh (2nd Year) and one by Sean Desmond (6th Year), great competition and superb spirit. 6th Year gave the lead in this – well done and thank you.

The feature event, The Principal’s Trophy was won by Sean Desmond (6th Year) for the second year running with Charles Lawless (6th Year) in Second Place.

Ethan Murtagh (2nd Year) won the Junior Championship Race with Adam O’Reilly (2nd Year) second.

Shanahan House stole the show winning the 2nd, 4th and 5th Year Competition. Ebenrecht won in 3rd Year with Duff successful in 6th Year. I congratulate the Deans and House Captains on the excellent turnout.

The OPEN 50 M CRAWL RACES were won by:
Adam Murtagh in 2nd Year
Liam Heylin in 3rd Year
Rhys Rowland in 4th Year
Patrick Fahy in 5th Year
And Rolf Jager in 6th Year

A great evening, which, as always was run with military precision.
