SWIM TEAM Vs HARROW Vs ETON Vs KING’S CANTERBURY
We congratulate Captain Frank Vaughan, Vice-Captain Paul O’Dea (both 6th Year) and their Squad on representing us so well in the Gala at Harrow last weekend.
This was the first time a Blackrock Swim Squad had competed overseas and to do so in such a fantastic setting provided unforgettable memories.
Harrow is an extraordinary school, its 400 acres steeped in history and tradition, blessed by wonderful facilities.
We were a very competitive 3rd overall behind winners Eton and Harrow with many fine performances.
I thank our Junior Squad of Mark Clonan, Max McKenna, Rhys Rowlands, Theo Stephens-Kehoe (all 1st Year), Jack Flynn, Peter Walsh and Jack Warren (all 2nd Year); Inter Team of Robbie Condon, Sean Desmond, Charlie Lawless, Ian Leavy, Ronan Mullen, Mark O’Connor (all 3rd Year), Richard Fahy, David Hardiman, and Christian McKenna (all 4th Year) and our Senior group of Harry Lawlor, Ryan O’Dea, Paul O’Dea, Frank Vaughan (all 6th Year) and Sean Hassett (4th Year), all of whom represented us so well.
I particularly appreciate the organisation and leadership of Fr. O’Brolchain, CSSp., Coach Ms Carole Walsh and Team Manager, Ms Clodagh O’Connor, as well as the enthusiastic support of parents, Jocelyn Stephens-Kehoe, Linda and Ian Rowlands.
A historic occasion
