BLACKROCK AT ITS FINEST!
Last night’s Concert, in the Jubilee Hall, was a celebration of the best of musical, choral and singing talent at Blackrock.
Ebullient M.C. Jack Crowley (4th Year) led us through 19 pieces that engaged, entertained and, indeed, enthralled the audience.
Excellence is what we strive for at Blackrock – it was evident in abundance last night.
Our SOLOISTS – Voice: Gavin Coll, Cian Byrne, Ross Finnegan (all 6th Year); Shane O’Connell (Piano) (6th Year), Richard Grainger (Cello) (2nd Year), Mark O’Donoghue (Violin) (6th Year), Greg Crowley (Bassoon) (4th Year), Oisin McEnroe (Bass) were simply outstanding.
Our CHOIRS – ‘Boarders’, ‘Adult’, ‘Leman’, ‘Libermann’ and ‘Corless’ incorporating Willow Park 1st Year combined with cohesion, intonation and harmony.
The BANDS – Pop and Jazz – Ceoltoiri Carraige and Orchestra provided a range of music, timing and precision in delivery that had everyone spellbound.
It was indeed a very special night which reached a crescendo with ‘Skyrim’, a grand finale of the entire cast of singers and players – Brilliant!
I thank Mr Swan, Mr MacDonald, Carai McMahon (Class of 2012), Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr Cavanagh, Ms O’Connor and Ms O’Kane for lighting the spark.
