St Vincent de Paul – Cyclethon

5th Year Cyclethon

5th Year had a fabulous day of fun, fitness and most significantly fundraising, last week, 8.00am to 8.00pm on Thursday 30 November. Almost 200 students took part in the 12 Hour Inter-House Cyclethon. Sponsored for a relay of 15 minute time slots, the students competed valiantly to cycle 1260km raising an outstanding total of over €6,555. In the end a mere 1km separated the winning Houses Duff and DeValera from Ebenerecht and Leman.

Many thanks to our maintenance and household staff as well as our sponsors McSports.ie, Friends First and Gowan Motors for ensuring the success of the event. Thank you to the parent body for their support and to the students for their good humour and enthusiastic participation. Finally, I thank Ms Dobbyn for her initiative – a brilliant idea – and organisation of the event.
