Sports Stars of the Year Awards 2020

Robert Galligan

Congratulations to Robert Galligan (6th Year) on winning the College Sports Star of the Year Award 2020.

Robert is an outstanding golfer. He has been a member of the College golf team which has won three consecutive Leinster Senior titles and is in the All-Ireland finals for the second consecutive year, runners up last year and yet (sadly maybe not) to play this year.

Robert has also been a member of the Ireland National U18 team for three years and has been awarded a golf scholarship to the University of Washington in Seattle.

Robert accepted his award on the Sports and Family Day video where he spoke appreciatively, and with great eloquence, of the support and encouragement of his family, of the College, in particular Ms Fitzgerald and his teammates.

Andrew Conway

Andrew Conway (Class of 2009), Munster and Ireland is this years Past-student Sports Star of the Year.

His performance in the World Cup were amongst the few highlights for Ireland and he established himself as first choice on the wing for Ireland in the 6 Nations Championships.

Andrew is the complete rugby player but more importantly he is an outstanding role model for our students.

The awards will be presented at the start of the new academic year.
