SCT 34 vs 14 Newbridge College

What a game! Described by Gavin Cumiskey in the Irish Times as “a blueprint for rugby”, it was played at a high tempo throughout. Fiercely competitive, both sides played with an elan that was a credit to themselves, their coaches, schools and families.
The final score does not do justice to the stern test set by Newbridge. At 19 – 14, with 15 minutes to go, it could have gone either way. It went our way, thankfully, due to the resolve, skill and drive of Captain Nick Timoney (6th Year) and his Squad. Well done.
Newbridge presented a formidable challenge. We salute them.
I thank our Management Team of Mr Smyth, Mr Pickering, Mr Savage, Mr Toomey, Mr Moore and Dr Ernan Gallagher, who have given so generously of their time and expertise.
