7’S RUGBY
Congratulations to Hugo Keenan, Bryan Mollen (both Class of 2014) and Mark Roche (Class of 2011) who were members of the Ireland squad that won Bronze Medal in Round 9 of the HSBC World Rugby Seven Series held in London last weekend, June 2nd/3rd.
Ireland lost in the semi-final to eventual winners Fiji but then beat England in the Bronze Medal match 19-17 with Mark Roche kicking the conversion to win it with seconds to go.
U20’S RUGBY WORLD CUP
We commiserate with captain Caelan Doris, Paul Dean, Tommy O’Brien (all Class of 2016), Tom Roche, Joe Byrne and Charlie Ryan (all Class of 2017) who are members of the Ireland squad that lost to South Africa (17-30) in Narbonne on Sunday last, 3rd June. The score line flattered the South African side. Ireland had led 17-12 at half-time. Ireland had lost their opening game against France, 24-26. The final pool game against Georgia, next Thursday, 7th June.
