Caelan Doris (6^th Year) and his Squad gave their all in an epic counter in Donnybrook yesterday, Monday 22^nd February 2016.

It was an extraordinary game in which two finely-matched teams provided a spectacle of richly entertaining, high-quality rugby.

Belvedere deserved their victory – just! – as this thriller went down to the wire.  We congratulate them and wish them well.

We are very proud of our own boys, feel and share their disappointment, their frustration.  Their commitment, courage, skill and spirit has enhanced our reputation, honoured our tradition.

Nothing was left behind – we could not ask more of them – we move on.

I thank our Coaches Mr Smyth, Mr Savage, Mr Pickering, Mr Toomey, Karl Curran (Class of 2009) and Mr Moore; our medical personnel Dr Egleston,Dr O’Brien, Dr Neligan and Mr Toomey; our Games Administrator Mr Evan O’Brien, the Squad, our Cheerleaders, Parents and Student body and, of course, my colleagues across the College in teaching, catering, maintenance, grounds and household who play a major role in all great Blackrock occasions.
