Congratulations to Captain Hugo O’Malley (3rd Year) and his squad on their victory over a committed and well organised Gonzaga side at Donnybrook yesterday, 28th February.

Gonzaga proved to be, as expected formidable opponents and offered a stern test.

Our Junior Cup Team defended magnificently throughout and the performance once again confirmed that we have a team that plays with great heart and determination. They gave their all and although maybe not the most stylish to represent Blackrock, their spirit is admirable.

I thank our coaching and medical team of Mr. Daly, Mr. Murray, Mr Fairley, Karl Curran (Class Of 2009), Mr. Moore, Mr. Toomey and Ms. Fitzgerald for their extraordinary commitment to the Junior Squad who have fashioned the side.

I also thank our games administrator mr Evan O’Brien for his attention to detail.
