Rugby Cup Campaign – SCT v Castleknock College

Rugby Senior Cup

S.C.T. 46 | CASTLEKNOCK COLLEGE 20 |
After 12 minutes and the score 17-3, we didn’t anticipate that the score would be 20-20 with 22 minutes to go. Nor did we at that stage expect it to end 46-20. This is the story of the game – a dogged, skilful, never-say-die Castleknock side that took their chances.
Message: if you repeatedly give a well-coached side the ball, they will make use of it. Liam Turner (6th Year) and his squad are talented but they know that this performance fell short of their own high standard.
Having said that, we congratulate them on, in the end, a deserving victory in what was a very sporting encounter. Well done. We should be better for the experience.
I thank our coaches Mr Vanstone, Mr Pickering, Mr Murray, Mr Lambe, Mr Moore, Seamus Toomey, and our doctor, Dr Boyle (Class of 1979).
Finally I thank Charlie Byrne (6th Year) and our cheerleaders on generating such vociferous support for the team.
Next Cup Match:
J.C.T. V St. Michael’s
Sunday 3.00pm – Donnybrook.
