Rugby Cup Campaign – JCT V St. Michaels

Rugby Junior Cup 1st Round
Sunday, 4th February 2018

J.C.T. 36 | St Michael’s College 12 |
St Michael’s has established an excellent reputation for skilful rugby played with pride and spirit. Their Junior squad lived up to this reputation playing with guts and determination throughout the game. Their endeavour deserved more. The score line did not do justice to their contribution to a very competitive match. We salute Captain Stephen Woods and his squad.
Congratulations to James Culhane (3rd Year) and his squad. First round matches at Junior level are always fraught with nervous tension. This year’s J.C.T. has tremendous potential. They showed it in snatches on Sunday.
Message: No cup is easily won. Improvement from round to round is essential. Dig deeper.
I thank our coaches Mr Daly, Mr Fairley, Mr Curran, Mr Donnelly and Mr Toomey; our medical team of Dr Boyle, Ms Fitzgerald, Andrew Hickey (class of 2010) and Mr Toomey, our Games Administrator Mr O’Brien, our cheerleaders, students in attendance, our parent body and of course my colleagues in attendance who provide the supervision.
