RNLI Cyclathon, May 2020

RNLI Cyclathon
May 2020
Nathan van Steenberge (5th Year) and his sailing team are doing a sponsored 2,000km virtual cycling tour of Ireland visiting every coastal RNLI station along the way to raise funds for the RNLI.
Current restrictions means that the RNLI had to cancel all live fund raising activities, including this year’s flagship May Day appeal. It is therefore very important to an organisation supported by voluntary donations that great initiatives such as this are supported by our community.
Starting last Saturday 8th of May, they are cycling 40km before school each day, about 80km after school during the week and doing 260km each day on the weekends. 550km has been covered so far and they have already raised €4,750. Sailing world greats including Tim Goodbody (Olympian), Oisin McClelland (Finn Class), Annalise Murphy and Aoife Hopkins have joined them on various legs of the cycle.
We wish Nathan and his team well.
