The Perpetual Trophy has been wrestled back from the Union thanks to the efforts of our 6^th Year Debating Team of:

who successfully opposed the Motion:

“THAT THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THAT THE 1916 RISING HAS BEEN GOOD FOR IRELAND”

The Union Team of:

Joshua Kieran Glennon (Class of 2015) who deservedly won the Best Speaker accolade, Barry Andrews (Class of 1985), Kevin Heavey (Class of 2014) and Kieran Conway (Class of 1967) all contributed to a great ’Rock evening which held the attention and interest of the packed Lecture Hall.

We thank our Chair Shane Murphy (Class of 1981), Judges Conn McCarrick (Class of 2014), Ms Harlowe, Ms Kelleher and Mr Sheil (Class of 1979) and our Timekeeper Scott Donoghue (5^th Year) who all ensured that the night ran seamlessly.

We thank Union President David Coen (Class of 1986) and his Union Committee for their support for this important annual challenge.
