Leman Concert
It was a privilege to be in the NATIONAL CONCERT HALL last night (Sunday 24th January 2016) to witness Blackrock at its finest.
The heartfelt, sustained standing ovation at the end was a fitting tribute to the outstanding performances of our boys, parents, past students and staff.
Our guests, President of the Union Mr David Coen (Class of 1986) and his wife Lucinda, the Provincial Fr. Marc Whelan, Chairman of the DEA, Fr. Peter Conaty and the Education Executive of the D.E.A. Ms Vivienne Dunne were left in awe of our Choirs – Corless, Libermann, Leman, ‘16’, Boarders, Adults and, making their debut, our newly-formed Past Pupils’ Choir – Orchestra, Soloists and Bands.
The pace of the night, following a theme of War And Peace was unrelenting and what a standard!
WOW! – A FANTASTIC EVENING,
WE ARE SO PROUD TO BE PART OF IT
I congratulate and thank the performers, our wonderful MCs, the brilliant Crew and, of course, my colleagues both on stage and behind-the-scenes –
Ms O’Kane, Ms O’Connor, Mr Grumley Traynor, Mr Cavanagh, Mr Eunan McDonald, Mr Sullivan, Mr Toirleac O’Brien, Mr Swan, Mr Wyer, Mr Herlihy and Mr Tom Ryan without whom it would not have been possible.
INCREDIBLE – MESMERIC – OUTSTANDING!
