Ewan McMahon 6th Year competed in the Laser Senior European Championships 2017 in Barcelona, Spain, from the 1st – 8th of October. This was his first time racing in the senior division which is sailed in the Laser Standard rig, otherwise known as the “Full rig”.

This class is the Sailing Men’s Singlehanded Discipline at the Olympics. There were 125 sailors racing in the division.

The event ran over six days, averaged two races per day. It was split into two main parts consisting of a three day Qualifying series and three day Finals series.
Ewan had a very creditable result finishing 3rd U-19.
