Karl Ashe Trophy 2016/17
1st Semi-Final: Castle Boarders 2-6 Transition Year 2-5
The Karl Ashe Trophy has moved to a new date in our calendar.
Previously in the final term, it will now be, played out each year from Mid-September to Early October.
The boarders, having led 2-3 to 0-0 at half-time, won the first Semi-Final on Friday evening last, 16th September, after a spirted comeback by the Transition Year boys.
The 2nd Semi-Final will take place next Friday 26th September. 5th Year (House) Day Boys V Castle (6th Yr) Day Boys with the Final scheduled for the following week.
I thank Mr Grant for refereeing Friday’s match and our games administrator, Mr Evan O’Brien for his organisation of the competition.
* Karl Ashe (class of 2012) died suddenly on Saturday 19th September 2009 while at home, in Glasson, Co. Westmeath for the weekend. He was a Transition Year boarder at the time. This tournament is played in his memory.
