GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS WORLD’S LARGEST SCRUM
1,044 BOYS FROM 1ST THROUGH TO 6TH YEAR BOUND UP TO RECLAIM THE RECORD FROM THE ENGLISH R.F.U.
Alain Rolland was Referee for the event and Charlie Rock (Class of 2013) put the ball in the scrum.
George Hook addressed the assembled boys, staff, representatives of GOAL, AIDLINK and the Media.
We were also delighted that Jordi Murphy (Class of 2009) and Ian Madigan (Class of 2007) joined us for the event the day after their fantastic victory over England in the 6-Nations Championship.
We also welcomed the Spiritan Provincial, Fr. Marc Whelan, CSSp., Brent Pope, Barry Andrews (CEO of GOAL) and Anne Cleary (C.E.O. of Aidlink)
The successful record attempt was the official launch of this year’s GOAL-AIDLINK ST. PATRICK’S DAY BADGE.
The Badge is available in the College as well as through Newsagents nationwide. You can also contribute €2.00 by texting PADDY to 50300.
I congratulate Mr Brennan, Mr Smyth, Mr McMahon, Fintan O’Connor and his maintenance team and my many colleagues who made the launch possible.
