BLACKROCK SECURES ITS 3RD GREEN FLAG
Green-Schools, known internationally as Eco-Schools, is an international environmental education programme, environmental management system and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges longterm, whole-school action for the environment.
Water is the third theme of the Green-Schools programme and is sponsored by Irish Water. The aim of the Water theme is to support schools in introducing and implementing a sustainable water programme and raising awareness of and engagement in related issues.
Blackrock College recently secured its third Green Flag for Water Conservation having previously received Flags for Recycling and Energy Conservation.
Congratulations to Mr Copeland and the Blackrock College Green Schools’ Committee on this significant achievement.
Many thanks to DLR Green Schools’ programme for their support of this important environmental initiative.
