GAA Vs. Oatlands – Opening Round November 2015

TRANSITION YEAR GAELIC FOOTBALL

BLACKROCK COLLEGE: 5-5          OATLANDS: 0-6

 Congratulations to Captain Mark Grogan and his Squad on their victory over Oatlands College in the opening round of this year’s Competition.

It was an excellent team performance with Goalkeeper Harry Donnelly, 

Mark Grogan, Charlie Byrne, Ewan McMahon, Gary Galvin and Alex Hatt to the fore.

I thank Mr Shane Murray for his preparation of the Team.

V ST. BENILDUS ~ SENIOR AND JUNIOR LEAGUE

On Thursday 24^th November, 2015 the SENIOR TEAM of Pengbo Wu, Martin Connolly, Karl Moroney and Calum Comerford (all 6^th Year), Patrick Hassett, (T.Y.) travelled to

St. Benildus.  Although the SENIOR TEAM lost 5 nil there were very close matches with Pengbo Wu and Patrick Hassett particularly unlucky.

The JUNIOR TEAM of Fergus Woods, Michael McDonald, Patrick O’Connell, Michael Ryan (all 3^rd Year) and Aidan Canavan (2^nd Year).

The Junior Team lost 1-4.  Aidan Canavan played a close match; unfortunately, he made a mistake and his opponent got an early Knight and Queen for a Checkmate.
Michael McDonald won his match against an Irish U14 panellist.

All games were very competitive and the standard was very high against a strong side of past and present International representatives on both St. Benildus teams.  Keep going, boys.
