Feis Ceoil – Libermann Choir 2018

The Libermann Choir sang in the Sacred Music: Post-Primary Schools Choirs Competition in the Feis Ceoil on Tuesday 13th March in the RDS Concert Hall. This was the first time that the choir has entered this competition and they performed two pieces: ‘For the Beauty of the Earth’ by John Rutter, which was the set work, and ‘Ubi Caritas’ by Ola Gjeilo. Singing first in the competition, the boys produced a lovely warm tone and sang with great sensitivity. The standard was very high and while we did not place in the competition, it was a great occasion to hear other choirs and also get a chance to perform in the RDS Concert Hall, which was a first for many of our boys.

The next performance is at the Father Dowling Festival Concert which takes places this Thursday 22nd March at 7:26pm in the Willow Park Gym and the Libermann Choir will be performing Paul Simon’s classic ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ as well as accompanying the 1st Year choir.
