East Leinster Athletics Championships

Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th May

The East Leinster Championships were held over 2 days, Tuesday and Wednesday, 3rd and 4th May in Santry this week.

The highlights included:

  • Rory McGuire’s (2nd Year) victory in the Junior Shot.
  • Harry Cullen’s (3rd Year) success in the Inter Discus, in which Rory Ahearne (3rd Year) finished second.
  • Our Intermediate Relay Team of Ross O’Reilly, Ben White (both 4th Year), John Campbell and Michael Lowey (both 3rd Year) also won gold.
  • At Senior level Shane Keane (100M), David Heavey (200M), Rolf Jager (Triple Jump), Rob Somers (High Jump) (all 6th Year), Harry Kearns (300M Walk) and Conor Halpin (5000M) (both 5th Year) were winners of their respective events as the Senior Team Trophy was retained.

We congratulate all the boys on their performance and thank our co-ordinators Ms. Farrell, Mr. Rowsome and Mr. Fitzsimons for their organisation of the teams.
