Cross Country – All Ireland Schools Championships 2018

All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships
Saturday, 10th March 2018
Congratulations to our Senior Cross-Country team which finished 3rd in treacherously muddy conditions in the All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships held in Waterford I.T. last Saturday 10th March. Outstanding performances from Harry Kearns (6th Year) who came 24th, Liam Blackburn (4th Year) came 26th, Conor Halpin (6th Year) came 31st, Patrick Fahy (6th Year) came 38th and Edward McKenna (5th Year) came 52nd, saw Blackrock comfortably take the bronze in the team event.
Also, Oscar Lubliner (2nd Year) came 9th in the Junior race qualifying him for the Irish Schools Junior team to compete in Nottingham on March 23rd at the SIAB Schools International. A simply stunning achievement. What a phenomenal day for all our athletes. All of them worked and trained hard all year and these fantastic achievements are the fruit of their labours.
We look forward to how these athletes will fare on the track 3 and wish Oscar all the best representing Ireland at the end of the month.
I’d like to thank Eddie MacDonagh, Mr Rowsome and Ms Whyte for their preparation and training of the athletes.
