The Colours Match – Trinity V UCD

The score line speaks for itself. This was a mighty battle with no quarter given or expected. I wish to acknowledge the Blackrock past students who had the honour of playing in the Colours match.

For UCD: Stephen Kilgallen (Class of 2016), Tommy O’Brien (Class of 2016), Patrick Patterson (Class of 2017), Jeremy Loughman (Class of 2014), Brian Cawley (Class of 2006) and Jack Ringrose (Class of 2016).

Brian Cawley was playing in his tenth Colours. This is a record and is a magnificent achievement. He has won 6 and lost 4.

For Trinity: Kyle Dixon (Class of 2015), Angus Lloyd (Class of 2011), Jack Burke (Class of 2012) and Joe Byrne (Class of 2017).

Alex MacDonald, from the U.S.A. is a House Intern working in the Castle, was also a member of the Trinity team. The Trinity side is coached by Tony Smeeth (coach of the U’13s), Gareth Pickering and Hugh Maguire (former Principal of Willow Park 1st Year.

It is great to see so many past students and staff members involved in this. We congratulate Trinity on their success and Brian Cawley on his longevity.
