Boarders’ Family Mass 14th September 2014

Fr O’Brolchain was Chief Celebrant at last Sunday’s Boarders’ Family Mass.

In an excellent homily, he urged the boys to be caring in their thoughts, words and deeds.

This is particularly important in the Castle where so many of different ages and origins come together in community.

5 of the 6th Years – David Bolger, Patrick Brophy, Jay Dolan, Andrew Kilmartin and Andrew Ryan were commissioned as Ministers of the Eucharist.  We congratulate them and thank them for their service.  We thank Fr Hyacinth for preparing them.

President of the Union, Mr Shane Murphy (Class of 1981), his wife Hilary and 3 sons represented our past.  It was great to see so many parents, grandparents, siblings and guardians in attendance.

I thank Fr O’Brolchain and the Concelebrating Community, Mr Rogan, the Castle Housemasters, Mr Tom Ryan, Mr Kehoe and Ms Dobbyn for their organisation, participation in and preparation of the liturgy.

Finally, I thank the castle boarders and wish them well for the year.
