Blessing of the Boats

Inclement weather resulted in the transfer of the Blessing from Dun Laoghaire Harbour back to the College, last Saturday morning 5th December.

Fr O’Brolchain presided over a lovely liturgy in which he described Rowing as a ‘Diamond sport’ and that the Rowers epitomised that ‘never give up’ spirit of the College.

It is a tough and demanding sport and I salute the resilience of our young men who are under the expert eye of head coach Laura Gannon, teacher Liaison Ms Reilly and the Parent’s Committee chaired by Aidan Tiernan.

It is an important Liturgy as we annually pray that these boats will keep our young men safe on the seas, rivers and lakes.
