Blackrock Rowing Club ‘Muckross Head Of The River’
Our College Club raced at Muckross Head of the River at the National Rowing Centre in Cork, on Saturday last, 3rd December. Each race was approximately three kilometres and conditions were excellent.
We had a number of superb performances, most notable being Louis Crowe’s (3rd Year) 3rd place in the U15 Single Sculls and our U14 quad of Jack Tiernan, Peter O’Grady, Dan Kyrychenko, MJ Power (all 3rd Year) and cox Theo Boland (2nd Year) that finished second.
Our U16’s quad of Fergal McCluskey (4th Year), Josh Warren (5th Year), Louis Crowe and Jonny Kavanagh (both 3rd Year), cox Theo Boland (2nd Year) was 3rd in their event.
In a day of very competitive racing, it was great to have so many crew on the water.
I thank our coaches Laura Gannon, Mr O’Mahony and Jack Brennan for their work with the boys.
