Two evenly matched sides fought out a back and forth contest with Coláiste Eoin running out winners with a strong second half performance.
In a tight, low-scoring opening quarter Coláiste Eoin took a 4-2 lead. ‘Rock settled in the second and had an excellent quarter winning 12-8 and taking a two point lead at the halfway stage. Coláiste Eoin were just about the better side from then on winning each of the last two quarters by 4 to win the game.
Feargal Keane (Captain – 3rd Year), Andrew Kennedy (4th Year) and Mark Murphy (3rd Year) all with 6 points apiece kept the scoring ticking over for ‘Rock. However as a squad they can be very pleased with the start to the season and there is much more to come from this team as they get more and more game experience.
